Hello Charlie,

Yes, It's already a long time ago that we've been at El moli de canyelles.
We were very happy with our stay there.
the house was very beautifull. It's really a large house. All we needed was at our disposal. There is nothing, I can think about, that was wrong or bad. The sleepingrooms were large and the beds were very comfortable. Also the bathrooms and the kitchen were well equipped.

We lived during our stay the whole time outside.
Barcelona was very near and that was interesting. We visited Barcelona for 2 days and stayed there in a hotel near the Ramblas. That was very noisy. At El Moli it is always quiet. What a difference!
The owners were very kind and helpfull. we saw them regularly. When we had any question we could always ask at them.
The best resume I can give about our stay At El Moli de Canyelles : SUPER !!
The services of Villasbarcelona were very good, friendly and right. Next year we will visit France during our hollidays. But when we decide to go back to Spain we surely visit Villasbarcelona.com to choose our next stay. Everything was perfect organised. Thank you, Charlie!

Greetings

Hello Charlie,

Well, this year we have finally decided to discover the Pouilles in the south of Italy.

Anyway, our stay in the Molino was great. The area near the Pyrénées was very beautiful with a lot of walks around. We have also been able to go and visit Barcelona (one hour by car). The house, in the middle of nowhere (well in fact surrounding by meadows), was just what we are looking for in vacation. The site was so peaceful, quiet. No neighbours around. The children were fond of the basement where there was a baby-foot and a ping-pong table. The house is confordable and very large with many rooms. And the garden with a big flat lawn is just great for football games. Every lunchtime, we made a barbecue and ate outside under the shadow of a shelter. The little town Gironella is 3 or 4 km far with all the shops you need and even some you don't need. I bought a lot of lovely and fashionable clothes in three shops there ! There is an olympic outside swimming pool where I could swim everyday ! The owners are very nice, always willing to help you. They came to give us some candles after a terrible storm when the electricty was out for two hours. Well, all of us, keep very nice memories of this stay.

I hope y English is not too bad !

Bye,
Hélène

Hi Charlie,

Everything went very well. It was everything you said it would be. The house, pool and gardens were very clean and tidy and there was loads of space everywhere. The bottom terrace garden towards the stream was a little overgrown but there was plenty of room in the main garden area where the pool is. It was handy having the second terrace for the shade or when someone wanted a little peace. It‘s a friendly place with friendly people and we got by without a few basic Spanish words. I only got reminded once that they speak Catalan locally and not Spanish.

We did our shopping in the supermarket in Berga 10 minutes drive away or in the village shop. We could not believe the price of wine. 57cents for a very nice everyday wine (and we did drink it everyday) and about 3 euro for a good bottle of sparklink wine. Who needs water? Food was good quality and good value. We mostly cooked on the excellent brick built barbeque or in the house as the restaurants were a bit of a struggle trying to find something for the kids and the language barrier.

The house is a 5 minutes drive from the town. A little too far fur us to walk but we found plenty of parking in the village. We spent most of our time at the house except for a trip to PortaVentura which is about 2 hours drive provided you don’t get lost which of course we did. We saw bits of Spain we didn’t expect to see at one o’clock in the morning. We all enjoyed the country walks and watching the kids play in and around the pool. The kids enjoyed the pool and the regular visits by frog, lizards, cows and the like. Their first mission every morning was to check if any frogs had fallen into the pool over night.

There’s so much of the place I know we didn’t see so we will go back at some point in the future. I’m not sure what the plans are for next year but I’d recommend it highly to anyone interested in a quiet, friendly and relaxing family holiday who wants to experience a little bit of Catalonia.

Thank you.
Roger Price

Charlie,

I’m sorry I didn’t ever write to give you feedback on our holiday ... it was a bit mad arriving back only 2 days before term starts.

We all LOVED El Moli. It was probably the most relaxing holiday I have ever been on. The children had a great time in the pool, exploring the area and playing in the games room. We loved eating outside by the b-b-q even though we couldn’t use it because of the drought. The house was well equipped with everything we needed to make ourselves at home. We ended up eating in, partly because the children were enjoying the place so much, partly because it was such a beautiful place to be and partly because it was so far from the town!!! I would like to think we will visit El Moli again. It would be a great venue for a long weekend with friends - not too far from Gerona or Barcelona airports.

Hello Charlie,

Our stay in El Moli de Canyelles was wonderfull. Everything was perfect: the location was very quiet and private, the house was very nice and the owners were really friendly and helpfull.

We enjoyed the swimmingpool very much and especially the covered dining area in the garden was a nice place to sit. We'll recommend this house to everybody.

Hi charlie,

... how odd, it did seem so unlike your excellent service, I was getting quite panicky. As for El Moli we had a brilliant holiday, loved the house, the garden, the peace and quiet, the owners were great, will book again if we can someday. Would be a lovely new year let. Anyway thanks again, will keep in touch for next year, meeting up with americans again so will be looking hopefully before xmas this year so all the best places arent booked.

Regards,
jacqui

Dear Charlie,

Just to let you know that we had a wonderful time at El Molí. Antonio, Rosa and Josep were excellent hosts, bringing us fresh eggs and courgettes from the farm and generally doing their utmost to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. On the Friday we arrived we were filmed by TV3 as part of a report on rural tourism in Catalunya and were able to watch ourselves on TV the following Monday. We tried the restaurant you recommended and had a nice relaxed meal there. Other highlights were a day trip to Barcelona and the aquarium and my ascent of the Pedraforca and Gallina Pellada in the Sierra del Cadí. The main attraction for the children was of course the swimming pool, and my parents-in- law, who are keen bird spotters, were delighted with the birdlife on offer. They went on may walks with the boys along the stream and in the surrounding maquis. The pool just up from the house not only contained crayfish, but was also home to an otter. All in all a wonderful week that was roundly voted the best holiday that we have ever had. Thank you.

There was only one problem, and this is our fault, and that is that we inadvertently packed one of the sheets belonging to the property. I have tried to e-mail Antonio to get his postal address, but have had no reply to date. Would you happen to have it as we would like to send the sheet back, or at least pay the corresponding amount.

With best regards.

William Stock

Charlie adds: the Stock Family have booked this same villa again for two weeks in 2006. Now that´s a good sign!

Hi Charles,

We are all back safe and sound after a wonderful holiday.Everything was just terrific. The area was very picturesque and scenic but not geared for the tourist at all so not been able to speak the language at times did prove a problem but we got by.It was hard to find places to eat out but we did go to the resturaunt you recommended and it was beautiful.

As for the accomadation ,it was something else.As we got lost coming out of Barcellona ,we thought we were never going to arrive. We rang Rosa from the designated place and she came promptly to collect us

.What a sight!I dont know where to begin .The house was so spacious and very well equiped .The place was spotless .We were very impressed on first impressions and this continued as the week went on .Not only is the house in an ideal location because of its proximity to Barcelona but it would be an ideal Winter escape for sking also.

Joseph came to find out how we were getting on and was more than helpful with everything ,.The lads even went with him one morning to see the farm as this is what they work at back in Ireland.

You were right when you described the place ,all was wonderful.

Thanks for helping us to have a wonderful holiday and looking foward to looking through the web-site very soon to plan next years holiday.

Best wishes
Lorna Butler

Dear Charlie,

We wanted to send you our feedback after our wonderful stay at El Moli.

Indeed, the house was exactly as you presented it, only better, as we had no idea from your website how gorgeous the views and countryside are and how idyllic indeed the spot is in general. We had a wonderful time, with good weather, and enjoyed the house, comfortable bedrooms, the huge lawn with pool, the nearby cows ! and especially the outside BBQ shed (where we took all our meals) tremendously. This is a great rental home and we might very well come back one day ! We never used the lower terrace, which is not kept up or equipped with garden furniture, but there was no need really.

The owners were also charming and very helpful (it is useful to speak Spanish well enough to communicate though. I did not get the impression that they spoke very much of anything else…). They came to look after the pool, which needed some regular maintenance to stay clean, and to repair a few odds and ends. The beds were large but not as comfortable as expected, as the mattresses were supposedly the kind with springs inside. The only recommendation really would be to add a few salad bowls in the kitchen items, large enough for the kind of group this house can accommodate ! Also, one comment about the games room. Interesting indeed, but the kids did not use it : too dark or unappealing to play, but mostly the babyfoot table was somewhat broken, or at least in such a state as to prevent playing with it ! No big deal, the weather was great so we enjoyed the pool all day long.

Also your directions were perfect, we found the house with no trouble at all. We never did find the tourist information desk at the airport… things seem to have changed a bit since your wrote your instructions.

I just spoke to the owner as I lost a ring over the holiday, and she assured me she would call me should she find anything of the kind. The whole family was definitely very pleasant.

Thanks again for everything, it was a great success.

With best regards
Amy

Hi Charles

We found the house delightful. It had everything we needed and more. There was lots of space and it was cool during that heatwave. I personally would have preferred more flowers and plants around the place and perhaps a lawn that was not as scratchy. We found the pool adequate for our party, but I can imagine that a party of 14 people would find it a bit of a squash.

Satellite TV would definitely be a bonus and perhaps some mugs rather than cups and saucers for tea and coffee. The kitchen was a bit dark when you were trying to prepare a meal -even with the light on.

Joseph and his family were very attentive and when the filter on the pool stopped working they came round at once.

Otherwise we thought the house was a great success.
