Bed and breakfast's on the Costa Brava - Near Coast

Here are a couple of B&Bs on the Costa Brava which I stay in regularly. These are both located just off the AP-7 highway and well situated for exploring the region, and both offer comfort and good meals at relatively low prices. Mas Ros is a bit more formal than Can Sort, which tends to fill up with youngish people horsing around on weekends. I would advise B&B stays for short stays, and keep in mind these houses do not offer kitchen priviledges.

  • tell me the name of the B&B that interests you, the dates of your stay, the number of guests, and room/bed requirements
  • also let me know of any special needs (cot for baby, wheelchair, meals, etc)
  • I will call the houses, check on availability and prices, then email you with that information and intstructions for securing the booking
  • when the booking is made, usually with your credit card details, I will send you detailed directions to the house

 

Ref. BB 100 - Mas Ros

Mas Ros: a restored 15C masia converted into a B&B with 7 rooms (all with full private bath) and offering sumptuous meals. Situated in a beautiful and quiet hamlet just two quick kilometers from the main highway to France and Barcelona, this is a privileged area much sought-after by well-heeled Catalans in search of a country villa. Swimming pool and large garden. The owner´s have a farm several kms away with farm animals. Very nice indeed... and the owner is president of local rural tourism association and can be trusted to run a tight ship!

doubles from 80 to 100 Euros per night, depending on season. two bedroom suite from 150 to 175 Euros per night extra bed: 15 Euros, including breakfast meals: 22 Euros

Ref. BB 200 - Can Sort

Can Sort is a gorgeous 10-room B&B on a large property which also offers horseback riding. However, the stables and the living quarters are quite far apart, and so even if you aren´t at all interested in horses, you will probably give this B&B top marks for its large, informal, but comfortable rooms, excellent meals, elegant common areas (including a nice dining room and a huge 120 living room) and a good-sized - 6x12m - swimming pool.  The idyllic rural setting and the relaxed hospitality of the owners and their young staff make this another of those best-kept-secret sort of places, but don´t tell them I told you so. 80 Euros night for double room with private bath and breakfast.

high-season: 30/7-15/9, 92 Euros/day the double room, including breakfast and taxes rest of year: 82 Euros/day meals: 16 Euros, 8 Euros for kids under 9 special 2-day offers, half-board, double room, 2 hours horseback = 155 Euros,
