Costa Brava Villas : Cal Micos : Comments Feedback on Cal Micos----- Original Message ----- From: ENSEMBLE DJJROB To: villasbarcelona Sent: Wednesday, September 21, 2005 4:48 PM Subject: Re: cal micos, how was it? It seems like so long ago but we all had a brilliant time at cal micos. The house and its location were incredible and we're already thinking of a return trip sometime in the next couple of years. We did the usual tourist things, like the beach, the waterparks, drive into the mountains and a day trip into Barcelona. The children were also more than happy to spend a couple of days by the pool and exploring the local area. All in all it was a great holiday and it will be looked back on with fond memories. Best Wishes, Judith. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jacqueline Saunders To: charlie@tourismcatalonia.com Sent: Monday, October 03, 2005 10:18 PM Subject: Re: Cal Micos for the week staring August 27 - how was it? Hi Charlie, sorry for the tardy reply - I think I'm still in holiday mode! We had a fantastic holiday - the location was superb - beautiful, remote and quiet - but near enough to the beaches. We didn't need to go to the coast as the pool kept the children amused all week. We barbeque'd most evenings - what a fantastic barbeque area! Carmen was lovely and made us feel very welcome. She even took us to the neighbouring farm so that the children could see the ducks and hens! Mental note - must learn some spanish! A great holiday - many thanks for all your help. With kind regards Jack and Simeon Saunders (and of course Danielle, Georgie and Adam!) ----- Original Message ----- From: David Chick To: 'villasbarcelona' Sent: Friday, September 23, 2005 10:55 PM Subject: RE: Cal Micos - July 23 to August 6 -how was it? Hi Charlie, No, not too late at all. Cal Micos will stay fresh in our memories for a long time yet. The house was excellent, and I use the word in its proper meaning. Exactly as advertised - better even - it lived up to our high expectations. Wonderful setting, plenty of space, great bar-b-q area, huge refrigerator (not even my brother-in-law could fill it with beer!), quiet, with good restaurants nearby. Carmen was a great hostess - very concerned to help, and very friendly too. We had a fantastic holiday, largely helped by the base provided by Cal Micos. (You can see us on www.chick.org.uk, under ChickFest 2005; Cal Micos does not feature there, but at least you will see who you were dealing with!) Of course nowhere is perfect. The beds were not very comfortable, and we were surprised that there were no fans at all in the house. But we came to an agreement with Carmen, and shared the cost for some (an illustration of how good Carmen was as a host). You have an excellent property on your books in Cal Micos. Please send our thanks and regards to Carmen, Best regards, David ----- Original Message ----- From: no name (see below) To: Charles Williams Sent: Monday, November 08, 2004 1:01 PM Subject: Re: Cal Micos, August 2004 Yes we had a very enjoyable time at Cal Micos. Everything was excellent. The pool we enjoyed and the barbecue area was the best set up I've seen for a large group. We also loved the luxury of having en suite bathrooms. The surrounding area lacked a lot of character on the first look; but Carmen took us up to see 'la Mare de Deu de Argimon' it was amazing and just on the door step. We'd love to come back, to relax around the house and to explore a bit more. We are looking for value for money when we book and the houses you offer are better value than the Chez Nous in France. Also coming from an area that suffers a lot from the influx of English people buying second homes, we appreciate the importance of supporting local people to benefit from tourism. Thank you for a good website Yours ( you may use extracts of the e.mail but not give my name - thanks again) ----- Original Message ----- From: Patrick Brand To: 'Charles Williams' Sent: Monday, March 31, 2003 9:03 AM Subject: Cal micos, week of march 19 Hi Charlie, A short mail from me to tell you that everything went as we hoped for at Cal Micos, and besides that.. the weather was perfect as well!! Cal Micos was great and so was Carmen, she is so nice! I hope that she was satisfied with us as well. Thanks to you too Charlie for everything! Best regards, Patrick ----- Original Message ----- From: ian humphreys To: tourism@catalonia.net Sent: Friday, October 18, 2002 2:57 PM Subject: Cal MICOS Hi Charlie Sorry it's taken so long but I really must write to you regarding Cal Micos. We had a most wonderful holiday, the accommodation is absolutely excellent and perfect for a large party. The spacious dining areas and lounges, together with the well equipped kitchen and well appointed bedrooms made this house perfect for us. The pool is excellent and the location is very central for all attractions. The icing on the cake was Carmen, the owner. She is the most charming, interesting and kind person. She works so hard to present the accommodation well, which must be said, is absolutely spotless. This accommodation is a credit to your web site and we would recommend it to any larger groups looking for "real Spain" accommodation. Best wishes the Humphreys family ----- Original Message ----- From: Elizabeth Edmondson To: Charles K. Williams Sent: Thursday, September 13, 2001 7:39 AM Subject: Re: Cal Micos June 28/29 - July 6 Charlie Just to let you know how much we enjoyed our week at Cal Micos in July. Splendid house, and Carmen couldn't have been more friendly & helpful - esp. when we had a fractured computer screen and she at once contacted just the person we needed. Nice pool, wonderful breezy air, sense of space. . . perfect. One thing - for your clients driving to Cal Micos through France - the tunnel is NOT a good idea - fine for Barcelona, but if you're heading for Vic, the road on the Spanish side of the tunnel is indirect, full of hairpin bends, very slow and quite scary at the end of a long drive. We returned on the motorway through Perpignan, and it took half the time! Thank you, we'll be back. ----- Original Message ----- From: Daniel J. Westerdale To: Charles K. Williams Sent: Wednesday, November 07, 2001 10:18 PM Subject: Re: Cal Micos Week in late September Charlie, Yes I would be happy to write a summary of our stay. In short, your services were excellent, the villa exceeded our every expectation, and we had a great time. There were one or two things we would have changed slightly, but nothing of major importance or that didn't fall into the category of personal preference. You were right about Carmen, she is a sweet woman and easy to like. I would strongly recommend this villa to other groups, especially active ones like ours! I'll pass on your salutations to Nikki. I'm fairly busy with events for the next few days, but next week I should have something back to you.
