Costa Brava Villas : Casa Palau : Comments Feedback on Casa Palau----- Original Message ----- From: chrisrobo To: Charles Williams Sent: Sunday, January 04, 2004 10:54 PM Subject: Re: Casa Palau, summer 2003 Everything about our holiday at Casa Palau was prefect. The ease of booking on the internet and the excellent service that you provided was matched by the house and the owners. The house was very large, clean and well furnished. The nearest neighbour was almost 1k away and the views were amazing. Henri and Nuria were extremely friendly as was their dog Crac. The village people were also very friendly and we fortunate enough to be there for a week long fiesta at which Nuria had reserved us tables each evening, although the festivities did not start until midnight! The municipal pool in the village was also very clean and never busy. About 20 minutes away there is a fresh water lake that made a change to swim in. The children and also the adults enjoyed a refreshing plunge in the pool that Henri has erected on the lawn. We wanted a holiday to relax and forget about work for 2 weeks and that's exactly what we had. I would recommend the house to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of a beach holiday. Williams Sent: Tuesday, October 16, 2001 9:54 PM Subject: RE: Matthews booking for Casa Palau Hi Charles A belated thank you for the stay at Casa Palau in August. Everything (pretty much ) was perfect. Nuria was very friendly and helpful. You can upgrade her English language ability to "pretty good". The house was wonderful with just the best views. A couple of small improvements are needed quite badly to the kitchen inventory. There has to be a chopping board larger than 10" by 6" for a kitchen in which meals are prepared for 8 people! and a couple of good kitchen knives. The local guide that you have put together was so helpful - first class. Can you get details of where the waterfalls are near to Santa Pau? We couldn't find them from your directions and the locals were unsure although I'm certain that this would have been down to our poor Spanish. Williams Sent: Sunday, August 05, 2001 6:23 PM Subject: Re: FAO Charlie re Casa Palau Dear Charlie Just a short note to express my thanks for the help you provided in helping me arrange my recent holiday to the northern Costa Brava. I was initially a little reluctant to commit to a holiday property featuring on a previously unknown ( to me) website. I did not need to worry. The descriptions you provided of Casa Palau were very accurate and if anything a little understated. The property was superb and the welcome from Nuria and Henry could not have been better. I found your guide book to be of immense value although it could perhaps do with an update. I look forward to using your services again and please feel free to provide my e-mail address to others as recomendation for Casa Palau or indeed your website. Many thanks again Sincerely Des Coop ----- Original Message ----- From: Meg To: Charles K. Williams Sent: Wednesday, June 13, 2001 8:59 AM Subject: From Meg in Sydney. Just a quick note to say we are back and in the midst of an awful lot of work (sometimes it just isn't worth going away !) Anyway Casa Palau (20-27th May) surpassed our expectations. Senora Nuria and Henri were delightful hosts and great company when they joined us for a drink or two one evening. My partner Jean-Pierre enjoyed speaking French with Henri ... (very relaxed .... ) Auntie Pat ( 83yrs ) chatted to Nuria and I acquired a new best friend ... their dog ! We discussed wire screens on windows and the possiblility of CNN (for all the dreadful English speakers) also they kindly lent a CD player for us so that we could play our CD's (Puccini drifiting out over the paddocks .... quite delightful !) I think they will install a Radio/CD player as the TV programs are pretty dull ....... local radio is good tho' lots of mad 60's music which suited us well. I will be writing to the Senora to enclose photos of our little drinking group and to relay our thanks. The village people are great ... we caused a lot of laughs when they saw us negotiating their little streets in a Renault Espace ! Mad Australians ! We had prepaid the Rental vehicle to fit 5 people plus bags & decided to keep it just for us 3. A big mistake- it only just fitted on the road leading to the house ! Shall be advising my clients (and I hope to send you a few) accordingly. In the meantime I am looking for a house & rental car company for people flying into Malaga ... hoping to stay around Ronda... I shall 'Peruse' the WWW> Charles, many thanks for your kind help ! Catalonia is indeed a lovely part of the world ... the locals especially ! If you need any help from over here ... let me know. The villa was perfect for us and the owners were very friendly and helpful. I may well be contacting you next year about Casa Palau or something similar. Could you pass this message on to Nuria Gutes and her husband. The house is situated above the village, close enough for our three children to walk to the bakery! With views of the mountains and vineyards that will stay with us until we return. The house itself was very well equipped with everything we needed for our holiday, and a relaxing stay. Thank you Charlie for the recommendation. We will pass this along to our friends and families.
