up to 15 or so in 7 rooms, 7 en suite bathrooms , an attractive farmhouse with lovely pool and large 5700m2 fenced garden area & a nice new outdoor BBQ shed, Cal Micos is just 8 kms off the AP-7 highway between France and Barcelona, about 22 kms inland from the coast, set amidst broad undulating fields and surrounded on three sides by different low pre-Pyrenees mountain ranges. Originally dating from the mid-18th C, this popular villa offers spacious comfort - all rooms have private bathroom - a 9x5m swimming pool set on a shady lawn under willow trees, and great views. Again I´ll insist on the location, 2 kms to Riudarenes town, 22 kms to beaches, 20 kms to Girona, and 70 quick highway kms to Barcelona, or take the commuter train every hour 6 kms away in Sils. Moderately priced for what it offers, this not fancy but solid house has a lot going for it, including free wifi and other extras!

Ref. CC 400 - Can Pou

up to 17 guests, 8 rooms, 5 bathrooms, this is a good example of how you can get more house for your money if you are willing to rent further inland. Another large and beautifully restored farmhouse, originally dating from the 15th century, Can Pou has a feature many of you will like:  this house was originally divided into two separate independent halves, so there are now two fully equipped kitchens, two elegant living/dinning rooms, two BBQ areas, etc...  So two or more families can be together when they want to, but also have their own living space when wanted. Situated in a huge property with great panoramic views (I counted 4 mountain ranges), a nice fenced-in 8x5m swimming pool, indoor play rooms with ping-pong, and lots more. Some houses have an exceptionally nice interior, and some houses have an exceptionally nice exterior, but a chosen few, like Can Pou, have it all. Now with free wi-fi connection.

15+ in 7 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms this amazing fortified 12thC stone masia, located in an idyllic setting just 8 kms south-west of Girona, is undoubtedly one of our most popular villas and has an impressive track record since 1998!  Beautifully restored and tastefully furnished, the six bedrooms (plus an 7th attic room with 3 single beds which I don´t count) are set far apart from one another, separated by several different sitting rooms and with some private terraces.  Along with the usual amenities such as the large fireplace and lovely patio with BBQ for outdoor meals under vines, there is also a good-sized & fully fenced swimming pool (5 x 10 meters) and an exercise room with 4-person jacuzzi, all on a lovely hillside overlooking an ancient village, with precious views of the pre-Pyrenees out towards the sea. Ref. CB 100 - Mas Dalt

sleeps 35+ in 17 bedrooms, 15 bathrooms: this enormous baronial mansion (1200m2 on a 15 hectaire private property) occupies a priviledged hillside position just above the historic lakeside town of Banyoles, with majestic views over the coastal plain of the central Costa Brava. There are three distinct, fully licensed and fully equipped living quarters, each with its own full kitchen, living room, dining room, terraces, bbqs, etc.  Highlights include a 120m2 living room - perfect for large indoor gatherings, a 100m2 terraced dining area with great views just above the 12x5m swimming pool, and a large indoor playroom.  Feedback from past guests is excellent!  1 km walk from Mas Dalt is Can Tapies - see next house.  Sometimes the two are rented together for large gatherings such as weddings in the off-season. Free WiFi and lots of extras!  This is not a wild party house.  Noise levels must be normal.

Ref. CB 1600 - Casadevall villa

up to 12 or so in 6 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, what a garden, pool and bbq dining area! Casadevall is a notable exception from the usual sort of rustic farmhouse property we normally offer. This is the modern 350m2 house of an architect, situated in a 10 hectaire private fenced & wooded property, mostly Mediterranean pine and cork oak, just outside of the town of Sils, 65 kms north of Barcelona by car, 1 km walk to the commuter train. Built some 15 years ago, this designer house has 6 bedrooms (2 en suite) and a total of four bathrooms plus one wc, along with a sauna and an exercise room with weights and nautilus machines.  But by far the nicest part of this villa is the garden, with its large triangular swimming pool, the lovely covered BBQ dining area just out from the kitchen, and  the porch, with 4 outdoor sofas. It is probably one of the nicest outdoors of any of the houses I offer.  A gorgeous private setting under the soothing shade of fragrant pines!  Free internet.

Ref. CB 400 - Can Cunill

up to 20 or so in 10 air conditioned bedrooms, 7 bathrooms. Located 20 kms south of Girona, one hour north of Barcelona, a safe 20 kms inland from Lloret de Mar and the other southern Costa Brava resorts. This is a huge "luxury" estate (sorry for using the often abused "L" word - I usually don´t - but in so many ways this one deserves it!) originally dates from 1583, has 8,000m2 of gorgeous & walled private gardens, two very large swimming pools, and a magnificent poolside dining area seating over 50 guests (outdoor kitchen & bathrooms too). This is the kind of villa you see on TV and has a lot of charm. Even if you can't afford to stay here - and if you can you probably should - you might like to take a quick look at this one just for the fun of it. Ref. CB 1800 - Can Girones

up to 10 or so in 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a beautifully restored house in a very central location, just off the greens of the new PGA golf course at Caldes de Malavella.  This is 12 kms south of Girona town, 15 kms inland from the middle Costa Brava beaches like San Feliu de Guixols.  Aside from the attractive interior, including 4 common rooms, a separate dining room and kitchen, there is a lovely Japanese-inspired landscaped walled garden and a private fenced-in swimming pool.  I have stayed here myself several times and I am very enthusiastic about this new house, which is 4 kms to shopping & the commuter train from Caldes to Barcelona (every half hour, 1 hour ride) and just 1 hour's drive from Barcelona on the fast AP-7 highway.  Good feedback and excellent price-quality relationship, especially in off-season!

Ref. CB 800 - Casa Sant Juan

sleeps 19 or so in 9 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms,  (2 of these outdoors poolside and BBQ side).  Set on a large private 35 hectaire fenced property under pines, 30 kms north of Barcelona, 12 highway kms inland from the beaches around Mataro, this property consists of two houses, always rented together to the same group, never separately.  The larger 5 bedroom house (225m2) is brand new and quite elegant, fully air conditioned and with quality furnishings, while the other 4 bedroom house (100m2) is rather simple, and I have been offering this older house for years now, so the owners have a proven track record.  Each house has its own outdoor sitting area and there is a large covered BBQ dining area with seating for all guests, ping pong, etc.  The 10x6 meter swimming pool is larger than most.  Highly recommended, for small and larger groups alike, who wish to be in a nice quiet location with great views, but not far from Barcelona and the sea.  Free WiFi & local cell phones for longer rentals.
