Asunto: El Turó, 7-14/8, 2105. We arranged airport pick up & drop off, a Barcelona visit & restaurant night.

Hi Charlie,

El turo was amazing!! We all loved it. And the price we got for that time of year was great. Anna did a brilliant job of arranging the taxis and restaurant bookings. We had Lee cook for us one night and he was fab!! All in all in was a excellent holiday. We would defiantly love to stay there again in the future.

Kind regards,

Claire Wistow

Thanks for the note Charlie:

I just figured your part of the job was over. Anna (the owner of El Turo) picked up where you left off in great detail.

We had a great time at El Turo. Anna was wonderful and made all the arrangements we needed for cleaning , cooking etc. Miguel and his wife (drivers) were so nice. We had a good time with Miguel and became good friends I think even with the language barrier. He had some English and I had some Italian and French and we managed nicely. Would highly recommend him for anyone in his neighborhood.

All in all it was a wonderful trip. We did not take a cruise but spent 8 days in Morocco which was fabulous! then we went to Barcelona for three days. Beautiful city and great food. Our first time there and want to go back.

Thanks for all your help and the follow up!

Take care,

Lynn

Hello,

Our stay at villa El Turo was very nice even if the weather was not fine (rain and snow!).

The villa is very large and very nice, well equipped, beautiful furniture.

We have also apreciate the indoor swimming pool and almost the area, very quiet and surrounding by mountains.

The villa is perfect for a large group or family. We have spent time together, around the large dining table, and also a lot different rooms can keep privacy.

We will come back, it's sure!

Sorry for my “ English"!

I'm ok to put our comment in the website and comments page but anonymous please.

Thank you.

CLH

We loved our stay at El Turo. The villa itself is large and beautiful, tastefully restored and furnished. All the rooms are comfortable; the sleeping and bathroom accommodations for American tastes are terrific.

We had a group of 14 people ranging in ages from 15 to 88 and everyone felt comfortable and even pampered.

The grounds are delightful. The pool was used heavily. It's not one of those little pools that makes for a nice place to cool off but isn't long enough for laps; to the contrary, I got great exercise daily swimming laps in that pool. It was maintained regularly (and

unobtrusively) throughout our stay. There are lovely mountain views from all around. By the way, we just happened to have perfect weather every day at the villa! The one day it was overcast was when we had planned a day trip to Montserrat, which didn't interfere with our plans at all as we got to enjoy our tour completely without having to worry about getting too much sun. (No guest at El Turo should miss the chance to visit Montserrat, by the way.)

From the villa, there are several excellent trails that go off into the woods. Without too much work, we found the ruins of an old church as well as footpaths into the nearby village. You could really see the local government's commitment to tourism (from both Spanish and foreign

visitors) in the form of the many trail markers and informational displays. Almost every person in our group made one or more trip on foot into the village every day, combining exercise with a quick visit to the Internet cafe, to the bank, or to get a bite to eat. Anyway, the point is that this mountain area is beautiful and we only scratched the surface in terms of exploring all it had to offer.

Without too much work, we figured out where to shop for food. There is, of course, the Caprabo supermarket in Caldes de Montbui along the C-59 just as your directions described, coming up from Barcelona. They have everything you need, although it's a bit of drive to go back there often. However, it wasn't hard to find most of what we needed day-to-day in the local Castellterçol shops. As I recall, in nearby Moiá there were additional places for food shopping with a variety of fresh items for the gourmets in our group. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped and we had no trouble dining in every night. The enormous dining room and table were a huge hit with our group, as it allowed us to easily accommodate everyone together for big family meals.

I have to say a special word about La Violeta, the hotel/bar in Castellterçol. Our group included three teenage girls who joined the rest of our party a couple of days into the trip. When I went to pick them up at the airport, it turned out the airline had lost their luggage! I gave the airline our cell phone contact information and drove up to El Turo with some very dejected young ladies. As we approached La Violeta, I decided to try something. We found the proprietor's daughter, who has good English, and I explained the problem. I asked if it would be okay for the airline to deliver the luggage, once the bags reached Spain, to the hotel - and she couldn't have been more gracious to foreign strangers who were not associated with her business in any way.

It was a real godsend to have an easy-to-locate establishment to which we could direct the delivery van. Several people in our party dined at La Violeta subsequently and gave very good reports about their meals.

Finally, I should also mention that we did have the chance to meet and talk with El Turo's owners (Anna, Josep, Ramona). Such nice people! It really added to the quality of the visit to have that personal interaction.

Here's the bottom line: every member of our rather diverse group found El Turo to be delightful. Whenever one rents a large, expensive house for a sizeable group of people, there is great anxiety right up to the moment you enter the house and see what you have ended up with. After all, we found you on the Internet! I still can picture the sighs of relief from the passengers in my car as we came around the corner for the first time and could see the villa - "This looks pretty sweet!" That impression just grew and grew as we came inside, saw all the rooms, took in the views out back, saw the pool, chose our bedrooms, etc. Everyone was sorry to leave and agreed we had made an outstanding choice.
