Today, June 2, 2006, I have just returned from spending two nights at this newest house for our listings. It isn´t going to be easy to describe this house for the website, and for now, I will just include some of the photos I have taken during my stay. Suffice to say for now that this is a high-quality villa in a unique location, right off one of the fairways of Catalonia´s only 36-hole PGA gold course at Caldes de Malavella, within an 8 minute walk or so from the clubhouse and the golf course´s five-star hotel, with its café and restaurant (with pool, lifeguard, wi-fi commuter connection) which is there for you to take advantage of. The owner of Can Girones sold part of her land to the golf club, so our guests for this villa are more than welcome at the golf facilities. The owner of Can Gironés has secured the services of a caretaker to look after the property and her guests, and quite wisely she chose Neus Vila, the same woman who runs such a tight ship at other rental properties I offer in the area (Can Cunill, Cal Moro, Can Brugues, and La Casa de les Monges). With Neus at the helm I am confident this house will also be well run.

The villa grounds:The area immediately around the villa is a quite sophisticated walled-in garden landscaped with a variety of surfaces, ranging from different colored volcanic stone and organic paving tiles, with different types of shade trees and the fenced-in pool for child safety. Around the walled in villa, you have flat fallow land for the children to play in, and beyond that, on one side the golf course in front of the house and behind the house typical Mediterranean woodlands of pine and oak and fragrant shrubs. There are no other dwellings any where near this very private property.


The garden:The pictures are quite self-explanitory. I took the photos myself so forgive me if they are less than professional quality. The first five shots show the outside of the villa. The 6th shot is of the contents of the garage shows all the garden furniture piled up around the new ping-pong table, which includes those typical green plastic picnic tables and chairs seating up to 14, 6 more comfortable olive-colored metal garden chairs and a shaded blue garden swing, and good collection of pool furniture, including 6 recliners, 5 while plastic chairs and 3 large parasols. All chairs have their corresponding padded covers. There is also a BBQ on wheels and halogen lighting with long extension cords to put about the garden at night.





The interior: The first of photos of the interior shows the entrance, then of one sitting room with fireplace and TV, then two shots of the second living room, also with TV, radio/cassette/tape player, two sofas, two card tables seating 4 each. Then there is a photo of the kitchen and dining room, also with fireplace. And there is a small ground-floor WC with toilet and sink - no shower or bathtub.






Then come the photos of the upstairs central room under gorgeous wooden ceiling beams distributing to the upstairs bedrooms. There are two pictures of two bedrooms and a bathoom. I have photos of all the rooms and bathrooms but these 2 bedroom shots are representative of high-quality finishings used to decorate all the rooms. All have closet space, reading lamps, and private bathroom, and some rooms have a writing desk.

All in all, a very nice place, and if you are golfers or just like to be surrounded by greens, this house is very close to paradise. It is also close to the train station at Caldes de Malavella, 4 kms away, and only 14 kms south of Girona capital, and 12 kms inland from the beaches of the central Costa Brava. 75 kms to Barcelona staight down the A-7 highway, about 1 hour to city center.
