Sorry for the delay in getting back to you - we have a fifteen week old baby plus our older two so finding the time to sit and write emails is proving elusive!

We had a wonderful holiday and found the setting to be just perfect. I genuinely don’t think we had a single complaint about any of it. The pool was a perfect size, lots of areas for the kids to explore and we made use of the football pitch! The location was perfect and allowed us all to explore the area (and have space from one another - we are nine siblings plus parents so time apart is a factor...!) whilst meeting in the evenings.

The meals were delicious, no complaints there at all and made life very much easier than the cooking rota we have used in the past.

We enjoyed it so much that we are intending to come again the summer of 2019 providing the property is available.

It must be great to have your mother and brother so close having come from so far away. Here in the UK we (the sensible 48%) have to watch aghast as the government drives our economy off a cliff and removes our EU rights thanks to Brexit...

We had a fantastic stay.

The house is wonderfull and the area is magnificant.

And Josep is a very nice person. He and his people took good care of the house and our needs.

We did not have any meals prepared for us. Frankly we didnt know it was a possibility.

There are so many good restaurants in the area, so i would suggest that you make a deal with one of them for future guests.

The reason we came to Mas Dalt was to celebrate my mother’s 80 year birthday, and it was a huge success.

If she is still in good health in 4 years, I am sure we will be back for her 85 year birthday.

It really was a pleasure to visit Mas Dalt, and I hope that we will be back in 4 years,

Thank you for our wonderful stay in both properties, Can Tapies and Mas Dalt this Summer. These truly are perfect, unique, and wonderfully secluded locations in beautiful Catalonia.

It was a very memorable group holiday celebrating many 40thbirthdays all at once. Charlie (agent) was very helpful at every stage. Our 'birthday party' at Mas Dalt with the pre-arranged catering, acoustic music and transportation was perfect.

The children had a magical time and never wanted for entertainment or adventure at any point. To be honest it was like that for the parents too! I strongly suspect that we will return in the future. We would recommend either of these stunning properties and the warm hospitality of the owners and the region in a heartbeat.

It was a real pleasure to stay at Mas Dalt. I think I may say that the entire group enjoyed it as well. I would be pleased to write a few comments that you can post on your website.

If you can use below feel free.

What impressed us most was the authentic furnishing and decoration of the entire house. Not a single IKEA furniture. ( we did not notice any ;)) A lot of photos was taken of the old fridge in the main kitchen.

With the space and 3 kitchens the logistics when preparing food was easy. Very few of the guests went away for dinner but prepared food in the open kitchen or in some of the other kitchens and we all the meals together.

Mas Dalt is located in a quiet place with a stunning view towards the sea. Convenient located for making trips to Figueres, the Vulcanos, the beach and even day trips to Barcelona.

The balcony was really the heart of the house where we had all the meals and where people relaxed with a book, playing cards or drinking a glass of cava and enjoying the scenery.

The teenagers played table tennis almost none stop and the swimming pool was visited often. Even though we stayed there as a big group we felt there were plenty of space and room for everybody.

The house is very quirky in a positive way with its many rooms, stairs and different levels.

We can warmly recommend Mas Dalt to people who are looking for a big place to celebrate or just arrange a holiday for family and friends.

Dear Charlie,

I wanted to give you some positive feedback on our recent stay at Mas Dalt. We stayed at the beginning of May 2012 for 4 days. Well I must say everyone in our party of 22 loved it and it has been the topic of conversation for the last few weeks. I thought the set up was great, it was secluded enough not to disturb neighbours even though most nights were fairly raucous. The facilities were great and we were able to self cater very reasonably, we got the ladies and owner to cater on the night of the celebration and that was fantastic also.

The property is top class and the owners, Rosa and Josep, were very helpful and welcoming, one minor repair was needed during our stay but that was resolved immediately we called. All the bedrooms are comfortable and well equipped, we let everyone choose their own bedroom and they were all very happy with what they got.

The setting for the house is fabulous, looking out over the beautiful countryside and there was something for everyone to do, my only regret was we only had 4 days which didn't give us long enough to see all the sights. Incidentally last year I went to Barbados and all I can say is I'd rather go to Banyoles every time! Prettier, friendlier and much, much cheaper.

The barbecue 'barn' was excellent and we spent most evenings in there at some point, certainly one of the best selling points of the property, but there were many more including the swimming pool area and covered games area.

All I can say, to sum up is fabulous! Please send our sincere thanks to Rosa and Josep and thank you for making it all go so smoothly. As I was the person who was arranging the holiday I was feeling particularly stressed and your help was invaluable.

We are a family group of 12 that stayed at Mas Dalt for 9 days in October 2010 and we absolutely loved it. We do a family vacation week in some part of Europe every year and have found some spectacular villas in our travels but nothing even comes close to Mas Dalt.

The property is amazing and the owners (Rosa and Josep and Antonio) were so good to us that we felt most welcome. The villa (really two buildings) sits up in the hills of the owners' farm in a beautiful treed setting and the view from the elevated pool terrace is gorgeous.

Every one of the 17 bedrooms are perfectly decorated, comfortable and completely equipped as you would expect in a hotel. The property was spotless and the only small problem we had was a WiFi connection that was not working the first day. The owners had this fixed on day 2 and it worked just fine for the rest of our stay.

It is very hard to identify the best attribute of Mas Dalt but our family would rate the huge “cookhouse" very highly. Most evenings we prepared fantastic meals in the brick wood burning BBQ in this huge cookhouse attached to the main building. It was equipped with running water, a giant harvest table and bench seating that accommodated our 12 for dining easily. There are a least 5 well seasoned paella pans to choose from (ranging from about 20" to “giant") and we made excellent use of them. It is open to the evening air on one end, is constructed of stone and it is a magical place to cook and eat. Don't overlook it.

Basically, the time we spent at Mas Dalt was so much fun and so perfect that it would be difficult to describe adequately. Given the size and the quality of this property the price is far and away the best bargain in Europe and ranks as our family's top pick out of all our travels to date.

Sorry for how late this email is, but we wanted to give you some feedback on our stay in Mas Dalt and Can Tapies in October.

Both houses were absolutely spectacular, we were delighted with the amount of room, the facilities, the design,and of course the beautiful gardens, both of which had a great swimming pool.

The area around the houses was lovely as well, and the view from the terrace of Mas Dalt was spectacular.

The houses were absolutely perfect for a large group gathering, there was more than enough room for everyone and plenty to do.

The location was also great, close enough to Girona that it was easy for some people to fly over just for the weekend, but far enough away from the city to be out in the middle of the countryside, but with a town near enough that shopping for supplies was easy.

Also if you could pass on our thanks to the owners, they were very friendly and extremely helpful all weekend without being in any way intrusive, basically the perfect hosts!

All in all everyone who stayed in the house was blown away by it and we couldn't have been happier with how it all went, we're all already looking forward to returning next year.

Review of Can Tapies and Mas Dalt- Better late than never!

We stayed at Mas Dalt and Can Tapies in September 2008. It was literally the best three days of my life and although this might sound like an exageration, it really isn´t!! This was partly due to the fact we got married on the Saturday afternoon and spent the rest of the weekend celebrating with friends and family so of course that made it a very magical weekend, but was also due to the beauty of the place, the niceness of Rosa and Josep and the amazing weather. The two houses are amazing- stunning views, beautiful pools and loads of communal space inside and out so you could have a good holiday whatever the weather. All the rooms are clean and nice although some are a bit dark but this is very typical of Spanish houses and actually an advantage on a hot day. Our favourite things from each house were

Mas Dalt
- Massive terrace area for eating and lounging around on.
- brilliant pool with fantastic views

Can Tapies
-has a table tennis table and games room which went down well with everyone,
-huge hall where a large group can sit and eat
-again a beautiful pool and gardens
- 2 BBQs

I would highly recommend both properties. I think they are both ideal for getting a big group together because as I said there is so much communal space. However if you wanted to rent one of the smaller apartments you would have a lot of privacy. The countryside around the villas is stunning and you are only twenty minutes drive from Girona which is gorgeous and 10 from Banyoles which is also very pretty with a beautiful lake.

Hi Charlie,

Mas Dalt was just beautiful -- beyond anything we could've expected. The owners were completely lovely -- Rosa would eagerly go out of her way to get us any info we needed, or to make us dinner reservations, and in one case drove with us over a half-hour away just to show us where a restaurant was so that we wouldn't get lost. We'd try to assure her that she needn't take so much trouble, but she insisted. She and her son could not have been more accommodating.

One day we hired Rosa to cook a dinner for the entire group (26 people) and it was fabulous! She did all the shopping and made all the arrangements. It was so nice after a day of sightseeing to come back to tables that were all set on the terrace with the beautiful view, and a meal that was all ready for us. The food was truly delicious.

The house was clean and the pool and grounds kept up perfectly.

Thanks for making the arrangements for us last year. We hope to visit Spain again on another holiday at another time, and look forward to speaking with you then if you're still in the business of villa rentals at that time!

As you know we took our staff away for a long weekend. There was plenty of room and the new building and pool are just superb.

From the very large veranda you can see for miles. You can also walk for miles if you so wish as you seem to have you own forest surrounding you!

We never left the “complex" other than for food and not one on the 18 people that went had a single complaint about anything.

As for Rosa, very helpful when needed. We had one small problem in the villa but once we advised Rosa it was sorted within an hour.

I would definitely recommend this property, especially if you want peace and quiet.

Just a short note following our return from Catalunya to thank you for your assistance in arranging for our stay at Mas Dalt. The masia was ideal and our party of 6 adults and 11 children enjoyed themselves immensely. Rosa was ideal - welcoming yet unobtrusive and available in times of (minor) crises... a self-inflicted crisis - one of my friend's kids locked the keys in the rental car - Rosa knew just who to call!

Whilst I don't make a habit of going back to places I have stayed, this would be high on my list were I to do so.
